GREENSBURG, Kan. – A new high school is being built in Greensburg, and it there is talk about consolidating the county and calling the building Kiowa County High School.
No decision has been made yet on that front, but area students showed support of simply having a new school building by hanging signs carrying messages on the chain link fence surrounding the construction site. Each sign was courtesy of a future graduating class.
The Greensburg High School mascot is the Rangers, so each message presented on the fence incorporates a sheriff’s star.
However, a deeper meaning can be found in the use of those stars, especially considering the Kansas motto of “Ad Astra Per Aspera.”
Greensburg has been through some incredibly difficult times, but the resilience in the town will lead them to success, especially as the town continues to be a star in the environmentally friendly movement.
