Speech Communication teaching test passed

Earlier this school year, I took two teaching tests, and I passed them both. However, I still had one to take. Well, the results are in, and I passed!

The latest test I passed was the Speech Communication Content Knowledge test, which will allow me to teach speech, theater and forensics classes. Previously, I passed the PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching) and English Language Literature Composition Content Knowledge. Of the two, I had to have the PLT to continue to be a journalism teacher. I took the English test so I could also be licensed to teach that subject.

So now I can basically teach any Language Arts class for students in grades 7 through 12.

These tests were necessary for me to become a full-fledged teacher when I finish my Transition to Teaching Program through Fort Hays State University. When I finish the program, I will have completed my master’s degree and earned my teaching certificate.

I am so stoked to have all these endorsements. As soon as I finish the T2T program, these endorsements will become active and the world will be my oyster.

Now, I just need to get through my final semester of my master’s program. It is a tough one, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. All the late nights and hard work will be worth it.
