Vogts taking trip to Arizona

Today begins a journey for me and my two friends.

Jeord Horchem, Travis Schafer and myself all work together at the same school in western Kansas, and since Spring Break started last Friday at noon, we decided to get away for a much-needed vacation.

We are heading to Tucson, Ariz., which is where Jerod’s oldest sister lives. We will be staying with her for a few days, and then we will be driving back in Jerod’s car, which she borrowed from him about a year ago.

All three of us are excited about getting to go do something, and the prospects of warmer weather are very intriguing.

For me personally, this will be the first time I’ve ever taken a Spring Break trip just for the sake of taking a trip. During college I attended a few journalism conferences during Spring Breaks, but I never went on a trip solely for the purpose of having fun.

I plan to take a lot of pictures of our trip, especially the drive home because it promises to be an adventure.

We are flying out of Wichita Mid-Continent Airport to Dallas-Fort Worth. From there, we will arrive in Tucson by mid-morning local time.

Stay tuned for more updates . . .
