A friend of mine, Rebecca Windle, teaches fourth and fifth grade at the Western Plains Elementary School in Ransom, Kan., which is where I now work and live as well.
I was talking to her the other day while I was subbing for the second and third grade teacher, who is my roommate Travis Schafer and was quite sick, when she mentioned she had started a blog.
At first I was hurt that she hadn’t told me, but I found it via her Twitter account.
I like her blog. It has a clear goal, and that goal is quite admirable. She wants to focus on the good and positive things in her life, which is why her blog is titled “Resplendent Moments.”
In her initial post, which was published Jan. 1, 2010, Windle said, “After watching Julie & Julia I was even more inspired to write a daily blog, but I needed something specific. Something with a purpose.”
She later revealed she had decided on focusing “on the positives of regular life.”
I think this is a great idea, and it is a fun read.
In each post, she numbers the “resplendent moments” she experiences. It is a count upward. With each post, the number of moments she chronicles grows higher.
I urge you to check it out. It is a nice reprieve from all the negativity that can swirl around in the blogosphere.
