Justice for all

I finally saw true justice today.

It was probably around 10 or 10:30 p.m., and I was driving down the interstate. I saw the flashing lights of a police vehicle, so I naturally slowed down.

As I got closer, I saw the officer was a state trooper, but this person of the law did not have anyone pulled over.

Instead, he or she was changing a tire of the police cruiser as other motorists sped by.

I couldn’t help but chuckle.

I have never seen a cop changing a tire. I always took the police to be a semi-lazy bunch who would probably not want to subject themselves to such toils, and I didn’t blame them because I too dislike changing tires.

But then I happened across this officer, and it reminded me people wearing a badge are just that — people.

It was still funny for me though. The only way it could have been better was if the police officer was having to put a doughnut tire on the car.

That would have been perfect irony.
