Demo Derby Sees Brother, Cousin Compete

Last Sunday, my cousin, Dale Westbrook, and my brother, Troy Vogts, once again went and played in the mud.

This time it was at the Harvey County Demolition Derby in Newton, Kan.

Neither did exceptionally well.

They finished off their cars for this demo season, which is what I think they both were trying to do.

They said they had fun, and so did I, even though the temperature was over 100 degrees when the event started at 6:30 p.m.

Oh, and it didn’t get over until 9:30 p.m.

It was the longest demo derby I have ever been to, but it was cool to see that many cars slamming into each other.

The feature heat, the money round, had 24 cars in it.

I couldn’t believe it.
