Vogts passes teaching tests

This post has been a long time in the making.

In September, I took two tests that are necessary for me to become a full-fledged teacher when I finish my Transition to Teaching Program through Fort Hays State University. When I finish the program, I will have completed my master’s degree and earned my teaching certificate.

The two tests I took were the PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching) and English Language Literature Composition Content Knowledge. Of the two, I had to have the PLT to continue to be a journalism teacher. I took the English test so I could also be licensed to teach that subject.

A few weeks ago I got my test scores.

I passed them both!

I am very excited. I love teaching, and earning passing scores means I can continue to do so.

I’m not done taking test, though. In January I will be taking the Speech Communication Content Knowledge test. If I pass it, I will also be able to teach high school speech and drama classes.

Wish me luck!
