Ness County Relay for Life calls for Corporate Sponsorships

NOTE: This is the letter I sent out to all the Ness County businesses. I am the Corporate Sponsorship Chair for the Ness County American Cancer Society Relay for Life. If you would like to help as well, please contact me.

Dear Friends of Relay for Life,

It’s that time of the year again! It is time to fight back against cancer as part of the American Cancer Society’s 13th Annual Ness County Relay For Life!

Things have changed a bit this year, though. The Relay won’t be held in July as usual. The date has been moved up several months. It will take place March 23-24, 2012 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. It will still take place at Ness City High School’s track, and the high school gym is the alternate location should weather get in the way.

But this change in the date doesn’t change the fact that the Ness County Relay For Life does immesurable good, so as either a previous sponor or someone who is looking to help, I’m writing you today to ask you to donate for this wonderful cause.

Last year our event raised $32,125, and $6,650 of that came from you, our Corporate Sponsorships in and around the area. Over the past 12 years, Ness County Relay for Life has raised a grand total of $324,936. Wow! Those are great numbers, and I think we can do even better this year!

After all, all the money raised helps cancer survivors right here in our own community by providing them with the many services of the American Cancer Society. That means your donations make a huge difference in the lives of so many people because cancer does not stop for anyone, anywhere or at anytime! So the only way we can stop it is to find a cure for all cancers! And the road to that cure is paved with the generosity of sponsors like you.

So, if you have been a sponsor in the past or are deciding to be one this year, from the bottom of my heart I say, “thank you!” It truly does help. Just ask some of our very own Ness County residents who have been diagnosed with cancer or their families about the services offered and provided to them free of charge thanks to the American Cancer Society. They can tell you how it really works!

Your support will help bring hope to those in need. Relay for Life is not just a fundraiser. It is about funding research, patient services, advocacy and increasing awarenss and education. It is a positive, inspirational event that celebrates life — the lives of survivors and the lives of those who have lost the battle.

Because the date of the Ness County Relay for Life has changed, so has the deadline for the Corporate Sponsorships. They need to be mailed to me by Dec. 31, 2011.

Sincerely,

Todd Vogts
Corporate Sponsor Chair
