It is that time of the week again. It is time to look at my favorite newspaper front page of the week.
As always, I culled through the front pages shown at Newseum.org and picked my favorite.
So here it is:
Las Vegas Sun

This will be short and sweet I didn’t choose today’s Las Vegas Sun front page for any spectacular design, graphic, article or photo.
I chose it because of the hilarious headline on the centerpiece package. See, it says, “Bagged By His Own Party.”
Now, I realize this may not seem instantly funny. But look at the graphic behind the image of Sen. Bill Raggio, R-Reno. It is a tea bag swinging for his head.
Get it yet?
No. Well, the story also mentions the Tea Party movement, which is of course a conservative moment, and the story said the Tea Partyers were mad at Raggio because he supported Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the recent elections.
So, do you see the joke yet?
He is getting teabagged . . . you know. Teabagged.
This is hilariously dirty. If you don’t know what teabagging is, then you need to look it up on UrbanDictionary.com. I will tell you, though, it is a sexually explicit, albeit hilarious, act.
I hope who ever was involved with the designing of this package, including the graphic and the headline and the placement of Raggio in relation to the graphic, did all of this on purpose to make a joke.
If so, I love that person’s sense of humor. If not, I still commend them for being really funny.
